The architecture of buildings is undergoing a fundamental change in paradigm -- my friends and I are attempting to trigger this. While academic architects and practitioners are using (misusing) AI and LLMs to produce phantasmagorical designs in pursuing a "new post-human design paradigm", they ignore the real power of AI. That is to draw upon its unbiased data base to evaluate which environments are good for human health and well-being. When we do those simple AI experiments, being very careful with the prompt engineering, we get results that demolish those crazy forms promoted in the media. Instead, it turns out that traditional and vernacular buildings already discovered the correct typologies. All of this was documented by Christopher Alexander, who was ostracized by the architecture profession, but provided the groundwork for much of today's AI thinking.
